Hello Mr. Anderson,
Quito seems like a city of great contrasts: so remote nestled in the mountains; yet the smile on your teacher's face, the solider willing to be photographed, and the presence of other tourists say it's also a welcoming place.
I didn't see any skyscrapers or traffic jams of cars or people. Quito looks like a low-rise, kind of lay-back place. is it?
By the way, did the distinguished tribal chief in this photo come from the interior to welcome tourists?
